Students who appear for the second or improvement examination, even if they later score above 75%, will not be considered eligible under the scheme. The School Education Department has clarified that the benefit is reserved only for students who qualify in the initial attempt itself.

The amount is intended to help meritorious students purchase laptops for higher education and digital learning. Officials stated that nearly 1.21 lakh students are expected to benefit this year, which is significantly higher than previous years.
