Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification for the post they are applying for.

For Geologist and related posts, candidates generally require a Master’s degree in Geology, Applied Geology, Geological Science, Geo-Exploration, Mineral Exploration, Engineering Geology, Marine Geology, Earth Science or an equivalent qualification.

For Geophysicist posts, a Master’s degree in subjects such as Physics, Applied Physics, Geophysics or Marine Geophysics is required.

For Chemist posts, candidates should have a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or the prescribed equivalent subject.

Age Limit

The prescribed age limit is:

  • Minimum Age: 21 Years
  • Maximum Age: 32 Years
  • Age Calculation Date: 01 January 2027

Age relaxation will be applicable to eligible reserved categories as per UPSC rules.
