The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj has released the official notification for the UP Assistant Professor Selection Examination 2026. A total of 1,936 Assistant Professor vacancies have been announced under Advertisement No. 04/2026 for aided co-educational and women’s degree colleges across Uttar Pradesh.

UP Assistant Professor Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates must fulfil the prescribed educational and age requirements to apply for the Assistant Professor Selection Examination 2026.
Educational Qualification
Candidates should have a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in the relevant or allied subject.
In addition, candidates must possess the prescribed NET/CSIR NET/SLET/SET qualification, wherever applicable. Eligible candidates holding a PhD may receive exemption from NET/SLET/SET subject to the conditions mentioned in the official notification.
