BPSC TRE 4.0 Eligibility Criteria 2026

The educational qualification varies according to the teaching level and subject.

Primary Teacher – Classes 1 to 5

Candidates may be eligible through qualifications such as:

• 12th with the required marks along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
• 12th with the required marks along with a 4-year B.El.Ed.
• Graduation with the prescribed marks along with D.El.Ed./B.Ed. or equivalent qualification, as applicable.

Middle School Teacher – Classes 6 to 8

Candidates generally require:

• Graduation with a relevant teacher-training qualification such as D.El.Ed./B.Ed.; or
• Other equivalent qualifications prescribed for specific subjects.

For certain subjects, additional subject-specific qualifications may be required.

Secondary Teacher – Classes 9 to 10

Candidates require the prescribed Graduation/Post-Graduation and B.Ed./equivalent teaching qualification. Candidates must also meet the applicable CTET/Bihar TET/STET requirements depending on the post.

Senior Secondary Teacher – Classes 11 to 12

Age relaxation is available for eligible categories according to the applicable rules. The maximum age mentioned for certain categories includes 40 years for BC/EBC and unreserved female candidates, and 42 years for SC/ST and transgender candidates, subject to the notification’s conditions.

Application Fee

The application fee for BPSC TRE 4.0 has been reduced to Rs. 100 for all categories.
