The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB), Bhopal has released the notification for the Naib Tehsildar Departmental Limited Competitive Examination 2026. A total of 73 Naib Tehsildar posts are available under this departmental recruitment.
The online application process will begin on 17 September 2026 and eligible candidates can apply online till 1 October 2026. The examination is proposed to be conducted from 14 November 2026.
Important: This recruitment is a Departmental Limited Competitive Examination. It is not an open recruitment for all graduates. Only eligible serving employees of specified Madhya Pradesh Revenue Department establishments can apply

The notification also provides 35% horizontal reservation for women across categories, subject to the prescribed rules.
MPESB Naib Tehsildar Eligibility Criteria
This is the most important point for applicants.
The MPESB Naib Tehsildar 2026 examination is restricted to serving employees of specified Revenue Department establishments.
Candidates must fulfill the following conditions:
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university in any of the prescribed streams, including:
- Arts
- Science
- Technical/Engineering
- Commerce
- Agriculture
The required qualification must have been obtained on or before the date of submitting the application. A qualification obtained after the application date will not be considered for eligibility.
Departmental Service Requirement
The candidate must have been working for at least 5 years on a regular or officiating basis in the eligible:
- Clerical Service Cadre, or
- Patwari / Revenue Inspector Cadre
The eligible establishments include the specified offices under the Revenue Department, including Revenue Mandal, Commissioner Land Records, Principal Revenue Commissioner, Divisional Commissioner and Collector establishments, including concerned SDO (Revenue) and Tehsil offices.
Age Limit
The candidate’s age should not exceed 55 years as on 1 January 2026.
Since this is a departmental examination, the prescribed 55-year maximum age is the applicable eligibility ceiling.
Number of Attempts
A candidate cannot appear in this examination under this scheme more than three times.
MPESB Naib Tehsildar Salary 2026
Selected candidates will be placed under Pay Level-9 of the Madhya Pradesh Pay Revision Rules, 2017.

MPESB Naib Tehsildar Application Fee 2026
The application fee for the departmental limited competitive examination is:

MPESB Naib Tehsildar Exam Pattern 2026
The selection will be based on a written Computer Based Test (CBT).
There will be two objective-type papers, with each paper carrying 100 marks.

MPESB Naib Tehsildar Marking Scheme
According to the recruitment details:
- Each correct answer carries 1 mark.
- 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- General candidates need to obtain at least 55% marks.
- SC/ST candidates need at least 40% marks.
- If the examination is conducted in multiple shifts, MPESB may use the Normalised Equi-Percentile method for preparation of the merit list.

The examination is proposed to begin from 14 November 2026.
The reported shift schedule is:

10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Reporting Time: 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM
Second Shift:
