🎓 Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the Group D posts should have:

• Passed Matriculation / Class 10th from a recognized board.
• Punjabi must have been studied as a subject at the Matriculation level, as prescribed in the recruitment rules.

Certain exemptions are applicable for specific categories/posts, so candidates should carefully check the official notification before applying.

🎂Age Limit 2026

The age is calculated as on 1 January 2026.

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 37 Years
• Age relaxation is applicable to eligible categories according to Punjab Government rules.

For certain Punjab-resident reserved categories, additional relaxation is available as prescribed in the recruitment notification.

💰  Salary 2026

Selected candidates will receive salary according to the prescribed Level-1 Pay Matrix.

Salary

₹18,000 – ₹56,900

The post carries Level-1 pay under the applicable 7th Pay Commission structure.

📝 PSSSB Group D Selection Process 2026

Part-A is a qualifying Punjabi language paper, while the marks obtained in Part-B are used for preparing the merit list. Part-B also carries negative marking.

📚 PSSSB Group D Exam Pattern 2026

The recruitment examination is conducted in objective/MCQ format.

Part-A – Punjabi Language

• Punjabi Language Test
• Qualifying in nature
• Candidates are required to obtain the prescribed minimum qualifying marks.
• Marks from this part are not counted towards the final merit.

Part-B – Written Examination

• Objective-type questions
• Merit determining paper
• Negative marking: 1/4 mark deducted for each wrong answer.

Candidates must qualify Part-A to become eligible for consideration in the merit list based on Part-B marks.
