National Anti-Terrorism Day 2026 Stand United Against Violence, Support Peace and Humanity

Every year on 21 May, India observes National Anti-Terrorism Day to spread awareness about the harmful effects of terrorism, violence, and extremism on society. This important day encourages citizens, especially students and young people, to promote peace, unity, humanity, and brotherhood.

National Anti-Terrorism Day is also observed in memory of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who lost his life in a terrorist attack on 21 May 1991. Since then, this day has become a reminder for every citizen to stand firmly against violence and support national integrity and harmony.

Terrorism not only destroys lives and property but also creates fear, hatred, and instability in society. It affects innocent people and weakens the values of humanity and peace. Therefore, it becomes the responsibility of every individual to spread awareness, reject violence, and contribute positively toward building a peaceful nation.

On this occasion, educational institutions, organizations, and communities organize awareness programs, pledge ceremonies, seminars, and campaigns to educate people about the dangers of terrorism and the importance of maintaining unity and peace in society.

At Meritorious Learning, we believe that education plays a powerful role in creating responsible citizens who stand for truth, justice, and humanity. Through awareness and positive actions, we can inspire the younger generation to choose peace over hatred and unity over violence.

Let us all take a pledge to:

Oppose terrorism and violence in every form

Promote peace, harmony, and brotherhood

Respect humanity and national unity

Encourage awareness and responsible citizenship

“Speak up against violence. Stand firm for justice. Support peace.”

Together, we can create a safer, stronger, and more peaceful future
