RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026 – Overview

The notification was released on 14 September 2026 and covers nine Paramedical categories.

RRB Paramedical Vacancy 2026

RRBs have announced a total of 590 vacancies across different Paramedical posts. Nursing Superintendent accounts for the highest number of vacancies with 365 posts, followed by Pharmacist with 118 posts.

RRB-wise Vacancy

The 590 vacancies are distributed among various RRB zones. The vacancies include 21 posts under RRB Bhopal, while other zones such as Kolkata, Secunderabad, Chennai and Mumbai also have vacancies.

Important Dates 

Candidates are advised to complete the application before the deadline rather than waiting for the last day.

 Eligibility Criteria

The educational qualification varies according to the post. The required qualification must be possessed by the candidate by 14 October 2026.

1. Nursing Superintendent

Candidates must have either:

• A 3-year General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course from an institution recognised by the Indian Nursing Council along with Registered Nurse and Midwife certification, or
• B.Sc. Nursing.

2. Dialysis Technician

Candidates should have:

• B.Sc. along with Diploma in Haemodialysis, or
• B.Sc. with two years of satisfactory in-house training/experience in Haemodialysis, or
• B.Sc. in Dialysis Techniques/Dialysis Technology/Renal Dialysis Technology.

3. Health & Malaria Inspector Grade II

Candidates should possess:

• B.Sc. with Chemistry as the main/optional subject, and
• One-year Diploma in Health/Sanitary Inspector, or
• One-year National Trade Certificate in Health Sanitary Inspector awarded by NCVT.

4. Audiologist & Speech Therapist

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (BASLP) from a recognised university along with registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

5. Pharmacist (Entry Grade)

Candidates should have:

• Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy (Allopathic) from a recognised university/institute and registration as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, or
• Doctor of Pharmacy from a recognised university/institute with the required Pharmacist registration.

6. Radiographer X-Ray Technician

Candidates should have:

• 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry, and
• Two-year Diploma in Radiography/X-Ray Technician/Radiodiagnosis Technology from a recognised institute.

Certain equivalent B.Sc./degree qualifications are also accepted as specified in the official notification.

7. ECG Technician

Candidates should have 10+2/Graduation in Science along with a Certificate, Diploma or Degree in ECG Laboratory Technology, Cardiology, Cardiology Technician or Cardiology Techniques. The certificate should be of at least one year’s duration.

8. Optometrist

Candidates should possess:

• B.Sc. in Optometry, or
• Diploma in Ophthalmic Technician of 3–4 years duration.

Registration with the concerned council/licensing body is also required.

9. Laboratory Assistant Grade II

Candidates should have:

• 12th/10+2 in Science, and
• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT), or equivalent certificate course.

B.Sc. Medical Lab Technology is also accepted as an equivalent qualification subject to notification conditions.

RRB Paramedical Age Limit 2026

The age limit is calculated as on 01 January 2027. The post-wise age limit is given below:

Age relaxation will be applicable to eligible candidates as per the applicable government rules.

RRB Paramedical Application Fee 2026

The application fee can be paid through online payment modes such as BHIM UPI, Net Banking and eligible debit cards.

The refund is applicable after appearing in the first-stage CBT, subject to applicable bank charges and notification conditions.

RRB Paramedical Selection Process 2026

The recruitment process consists of the following stages:

Computer-Based Test (CBT) → Shortlisting → Document Verification → Medical Examination → Final Appointment

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the CBT will proceed to the subsequent stages as per the recruitment rules.

RRB Paramedical Exam Pattern 2026

The RRB Paramedical CBT will consist of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions for 100 marks. The examination will be conducted for 90 minutes, while eligible PwBD candidates using the scribe facility will receive 120 minutes.

There will be 1/3 negative marking for every incorrect answer. The CBT will be available in Hindi and English along with other applicable languages as specified by RRB.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

RRB Paramedical Syllabus 2026

The CBT syllabus consists of Professional Ability, General Awareness, General Arithmetic, General Intelligence & Reasoning and General Science. Professional Ability carries the highest weightage of 70 marks, and its syllabus differs according to the post.

Professional Subjects

The professional section covers post-specific subjects. For example, Nursing Superintendent candidates can expect topics such as Anatomy, Physiology, Nutrition, Nursing Foundations, Pharmacology, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Midwifery and Nursing Management.

Similarly, candidates applying for Pharmacist, Radiographer, ECG Technician, Optometrist, Dialysis Technician and Laboratory Assistant posts will have professional questions related to their respective fields.

RRB Paramedical Salary 2026

The salary varies according to the post and Pay Level under the 7th Central Pay Commission.

The selected candidates will also be entitled to applicable allowances and benefits as per Railway rules.

Important Note

Candidates should select their RRB carefully, as the selected RRB cannot be modified later. The registered mobile number and email ID entered during account creation also cannot be changed after account creation.
